<p>That&#8217;s exactly it IMHO. The value of widgets has now evolved beyond being a means of tarting up your blog, for example, and is part of a wider trend to make information portable between websites. They might not necessarily increase traffic TO your site on a daily basis but they might increase usage OF your site. The trick is to make that work for you on a monetary basis.</p>
